2016 has been a very interesting year and I'm just gonna leave it at that because I look forward to 2017 so in this episode I will give you some information about what you should look for when you're buying a used videogame truck from somebody.
I had the opportunity to already do that in the past, I was very fortunate because the repairs that I had to do on that unit were all done in-house meaning that everything that I had to do was fixed inside the shop, I didn't have to outsource or go somewhere and pay a lot of money to fix the problems. So let's say that for whatever reason you're not buying a new videogame truck be it a financial reason or whatever the case is and maybe you found one on maybe eBay or Craigslist and you're like okay I'm going to go and buy that awesome video game trailer and get in business.
So first thing let's say the price is about 40,000 and you find out maybe or let's even like 38 to 45k and the person had selling that unit has been in operation for anywhere from 3 to 5 years, the first question that you need to ask is, Lee selling a brand-new unit from California, a standard 2.0 unit that is expandable for virtual-reality for $45,000.
Why am I paying 40 or 35 or 38 $39,000 for a used unit why?
Okay so sometimes when the unit is sold the person just pulls a number out of the air and says you know what I think 40,000 sound like a good number so I'm going to sell my unit for $40,000 so ladies and gentlemen come on down by my used videogame trailer so you can make money.
Well, not so fast, so if I was in a position where I was starting out and somebody was trying to sell me a used unit, by the way have done that, that’s what I'm helping out
I would have a whole list of questions that I would ask and based on the answers from these questions I would then have a lot of leveraging power to negotiate the purchase of my used unit.
Now personally I will never buy used unit ever again because rebuilding that thing just took way too much time so actually let me rephrase that, let's say you're buying a used truck and trailer combination and you're taking over the area of operations from the old owner and you're getting the entire establish marketing system behind that now maybe you might be getting a good deal. The question is, if you have this operational system why is the person selling it in the first place?
It will come down to one of two things, one, they weren't able to pull it off because they marketed wrong so they're trying to get out of the business, two, there is some sort of a family emergency or something that really happend and it does happen where they have to get out of the business.
But, if something sounds too good to be true be careful before you pay a lot of money for a used uni,t but let's say no matter what I tell you you're still going to go and buy a used unit.
